Happy Sunday!

Good afternoon! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I told the students I will not be at school tomorrow (Monday). I have to take one of my children to the doctor and it usually takes most of the day. They have a wonderful "guest" teacher and I am confident that all will go well!

You may have heard that we now only have 17 students. Khyle Ponds has left us to go out of state. We will miss his sweet smile tremendously, but we wish him and his family the best of luck in their new home and their new school!

On Monday, March 14th, you are invited to join your child in Music class. They have been working very hard on a surprise for you and would love for you to join them if you can. Our class goes to Music from 10:30 to 11:00.

We are taking our end of theme Benchmark Test this week for theme 7. We only have 3 themes left in reading! This year is just flying by! As a reminder, we do quite a few of our tests on Fridays and Mondays so if at all possible, PLEASE make sure your child is at school on these two days. If they are sick, that is completely understandable, but please try your best to have them at school. Our day is very packed, so it is difficult to find time for them to make up the tests as some of them are very lengthy.

Another reminder: A lot of our birthdays are coming up in the next couple of months. Please only send in birthday invitations for your child to pass out if they have invited the ENTIRE class. It causes hurt feelings when some children are invited and some are not. It puts me and your child in a very awkward position. If you are only inviting some of the children, please find another avenue to get them the invitations.

Now that we are finished with the celebration of Dr. Seuss, we are going to be hitting hard our next genre in writing. We are doing report writing and our topic will be animals. All of their work will be done in class, but if you make trips to the public library, it would be great if you could pick up a book or two on your child's assigned animal. As soon as we get to the point where the animals are assigned, I will let you know which one your child has chosen.

Have a wonderful week and please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything here that is unclear! Secret word: nonfiction
